OnePlus is reportedly working on a 7,000 mAh battery for its upcoming phones.
OnePlus Ace 3 Pro combines its powerful performance with a 6100 mAh battery and offers long battery life on paper. However, this Chinese brand may not stop here and intends to make a battery with a larger capacity.
According to a knowledgeable source called “Digital Chat Station” on the Weibo social network, OnePlus is developing a battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh. Interestingly, this battery can also be used in mid-range phones.
Of course, some special phones like the Samsung Galaxy F62 and Samsung Galaxy M51 were also released with a 7000 mAh battery. Even other brands have introduced large phones with 10,000 or even 20,000 mAh batteries, however most of these devices have a thick design and a lot of weight. For this reason, many recent Android phones are not equipped with a battery of more than 5000 mAh.
The effect of the advanced and light battery on the thickness and weight of OnePlus Ace 3 Pro
However, OnePlus recently introduced a silicon-based battery instead as part of its so-called Glacier Battery technology in the Ace 3 Pro. Silicon-based batteries typically have a higher density than traditional batteries, providing more capacity in a smaller body.
For example, the Ace 3 Pro is less than 9 mm thick and weighs 207 grams. This device owes its relatively low thickness and weight to its advanced battery; Therefore, it is logical that the final thickness and weight of the phone with a 7000 mAh silicon battery will not increase significantly.
OnePlus isn’t the only company with silicon-based batteries in its phones. Other competitors such as Honor and Xiaomi have also released phones with this technology; Therefore, the next generation devices of other brands may offer a larger battery or the same battery capacity in a smaller size.
